Now for a project I designed a while back but never shared with you. It is for my upcoming Winter Cheer Suite class in December.

I am loving the combination of Champagne foil with Powder Pink and white. It is such a pretty, wintry combination! I began by embossing the Whisper White background panel using the Winter Wonder TIEF. I layered that on a mat of Powder Pink card stock and then on a Thick Whisper White card stock base. The champagne foil element is all one piece, die-cut using the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.

The sentiment is from the Hearts Come Home stamp set and is stamped in Smokey Slate ink and then punched with the Pretty Label punch. I added a Powder Pink stamped snowflake behind the sentiment and then a little die-cut champagne foil swirl. I popped the sentiment label up with dimensionals. and added some pretty Powder Pink 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the Hearts Come Home set in Smokey Slate ink and then some snowflakes from the Snowflake Sentiments set in Powder Pink.

Have a great week!

Rustic Stars for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I am off today to a private Christmas Card Class in Brampton (about an hour from home) rest for this weary stamper this weekend!
Today marks the start of a new sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps. I will admit that I was a wee bit behind after being away at OnStage last week and was rushing at the last minute to get my design team card done. Thank goodness this is a super-easy sketch to work with!  Check it out:

Here is my quick and easy card:

I seriously pulled this card together with bits and pieces that were sitting on my desk...THAT'S how big a rush I was in! I began with a piece of Wood Textures DSP which I mounted on an Early Espresso card stock base. I adhered some die-cut pine branches, cut from Garden Green card stock using the Pretty Pines Thinlits. I used three of the largest stars from the Hearts and Stars Elements, daubing on a bit of Whisper White craft ink to give them a whitewashed look. I also added some Wink of Stella to each star, but it doesn't show up in the photos.

The sentiment is from the Star of Light stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink on a scrap of Wood Textures DSP. I adehered it to the stars using Mini Dimensionals. I added three pearls that I had coloured using the darkest shade of Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker.

On the inside I simply stamped a sentiment from the Star of Light stamp set in Early Espresso ink.

See? I told you it was super quick and easy! Now go check out the rest of the Design Team's work and give this sketch a try. We'd love to see what you come up with, so be sure to share it with us over at Sunday Stamps!

The Stamparatus is Coming!

Have you heard the BIGGEST news from last week's OnStage event in Salt Lake City about the fabulous new product everyone is buzzing about? If you haven't, be prepared to have your mind blown. The Stamparatus is coming.

What the heck is a Stamparatus and why should you care? We haven't discovered a new dinosaur fossil...we've designed a brand new stamp positioning tool that will blow the competition OUT OF THE WATER!'s THAT good!  Why do I say "we", you ask? This is the first brand new product Stampin' Up! has collaborated  with their demonstratorsto design...including me! There is a group of demonstrators from all over the world called L2L who have been collaborating for the past several years to research, dream and design a new product that would make stamping easier for everyone. And let me just say, we NAILED IT!

Check out this video explaining five things you need to know about this amazing tool and why it is better than anything else on the market.

It’s big news when something breaks the mold and changes everything. The Stamparatus will change the way you stamp, and before long, you’ll wonder how you crafted without it!

Why do YOU need one? You’ll fall in love with stamping all over again when you learn everything you can do with it!
  • Make multiples with ease
  • Consistently stamp crisp, clean images
  • If you want a darker impression, apply more ink and restamp—no need to start over
  • Make fewer mistakes, saving time and money
  • Easily create 2-step, 3-step, and 4-step stamped images using reversible plates
  • Develop new and specialized stamping techniques with adjustable stamping plates and precision placement

When can you get it? The launch of this product is being done in a way that Stampin' Up! has never done before. Their #1 goal is to release the Stamparatus as soon as possible. In order for them to manage inventory and avoid frustrating backorders, they are introducting a reservation system.

Musical Joy

If you've been following my blog for a while you likely know that I am a high school music teacher by day and a Stampin' Up! demonstrator by night (sometimes veerrryy late night (: ). When I first saw the Musical Season bundle in the Holiday Catalogue it shot right to the top of my must-have list. While not all of us are musicians, I'm here to tell you we all NEED this bundle! Check out this card I designed for my upcoming Bundle of the Month class...

How classic is that look?? I love the French Horn die-cut against the plaid makes me happy! This card is actually pretty quick to put together because there is minimal stamping involved. The Whisper White background panel is embossed using the Holly TIEF. I layered a strip of plaid DSP form the Christmas Around the World pack and then added some die-cut pine boughs cut from Old Olive card stock using the Christmas Staircase Thinlits. The letters are die-cut using the Large Letters Framelits. I cut two sets; one from gold foil and one from Cherry Cobbler card stock and then layered them, offsetting them slightly. I brushed the Cherry Cobbler letters with clear Wink of Stella for pretty sparkle.

The French Horn is die-cut from gold foil card stock using the Musical Instruments Framelits. I added some detail to the bell of the horn using the border stamp from the Musical Season stamp set, heat embossing it in gold. I layered the card front on a Basic Black mat and then mounted it on a Cherry Cobbler card base. The only embellisment on this card is some 1/4" gold metallic ribbon.

On the inside I kept it simple, adding a Whisper White panel and stamping the sentiment from the Musical Season stamp set in Basic Black ink.

I am soooo loving this bundle...I just wish I had more time to play with it! Stay tuned....

I am getting ready to head to Salt Lake City for OnStage, our Stampin' Up convention and training event. We'll be getting copies of the upcoming Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochures AND we'll get our hands on lots of brand-new products! I can't wait!  Be sure to check back over the next week for sneak peeks!
